Faux Patterned Paper

I used stencils to create faux patterned paper layers for the background of this card.

This card is made with just one piece of 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch cardstock. Using a stamp from Rubber Hedgehog. I stamped the focal image then colored it with Prismacolor pencils.

I masked the the stamped image then taped down the stencil and inked it with Distress Oxide.

After removing the masks, I have a frame around my image.

I continued by masking different areas, adding a base layer of ink then placing the stencil and inking again with a darker color.

I then used a black marker to draw a border around each piece of Faux Patterned paper.

For the finishing touch I mixed some Just Jade Paper Glaze with water and added splatters and splashed all over to continue the theme from the image.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this technique and will try it in your own craft space. I have added two more samples of this technique below.
